James Warren

Published author and screenwriter

James was thrust into the media arena after a two-year course at Confetti Studios in Nottingham, a college specializing in television and film production. He graduated in 2013 and began shadowing various individuals within the industry.

First, Simon Statturth on the final series of Popstar to Operastar (ITV), at the old London Studios, Steve Smith and Jon Magnusson on The Graham Norton Show (BBC), also at the London Studios, and finally, David Kester on countless episodes of the longest-running soap opera, Coronation Street (ITV) where his love for writing and telling stories blossomed.

From then on, James wrote the independent feature film, Cue (Bluewater Films), that was filmed on a micro-budget. He then went on to write scripts for various short films including "silent-films" Oculto (Hit The Road Jack Productions) and Forgotten (Silk Pictures)both of which were filmed on location in Los Angeles, California.

James then returned to the UK to focus on writing comedy, of which his debut time-wasting letters book Laurence Bounds - My Life In Letters (Upfront Publishing)co-written with Mark Ryland Bridges, was released in 2020 to critical acclaim.

Over the past few years, James has been developing a new 3x60" crime drama entitled As The Sun Rises. The Television Experts are currently exploring production companies within the UK who have a track record in producing drama whilst making tentative enquiries to development teams and commissioners.

Aside from writing, James has directed countless films and shorts and runs The Televison Experts on a day-to-day basis along with three colleagues. To avoid any possible conflict of interest, James is represented independently by literary agent, Sarah Ferguson.
